There are a lot of different reasons why a person experiences foot pain and most of it is due to injuries and other physical conditions that could greatly affect the feet. Repeated or acute trauma, diseases and a combination of the two is one of the most common causes of foot pain. The result of the different outside forces of the body is called trauma and this could either impact the body directly or could also force the body to go into a certain position where it could greatly damage the structure of the body –this could be a single force or a combination of different forces. One of the common foot pain causes is having a poor biomechanical alignment of the body and you may not know it, but this could affect the other parts of your body as well. Wearing shoes that have heels too high or shoes that are too tight could lead to having discomfort in the balls of the feet as well as to the various bones in that certain area. The shoes that are frequently being used should be comfortable because too tight shoes could cause bruising and pain on the top of the foot.

Different kinds of injuries such as bruises, muscle strains, fractures and ligament sprains typically occur acutely or suddenly. Fractures, bruises, sprains and strains may be a result of having a single or a blend of all the stresses to the foot. When the ligaments which are responsible in holding the bones together were overworked or overstretched and when its fibers were tear, this would lead to having a sprain in the ankle or foot. However, the mere fact of having loosened ligaments in the joint area might lead to having foot pain. The fascia of the foot as well as the bursa of the muscles can be strained by being overuse, overstretched, bruised, overloaded or was cut (this could be done by stepping on a pointed or sharp object). One of the common injury which the tendon experiences is the Achilles tendonitis where the back of heel experiences pain. The injury to the joints and bones of the feet can be due to a single twist or blow to the foot as well as by having repetitive trauma could then lead to having a stress fracture. When a person had a blunt force injury or when a heavy object stepped on your foot, this could eventually lead contusion or bruises and worse, to damages to the ligaments of the foot as well as to the muscles.

Once you experience these kinds of symptoms you should ask your doctor about what kind of foot pain treatment you should conduct depending on the kind of condition that you have. Keep in mind that your footwear has a great impact and is a major contributor of foot pain so you should be very careful in choosing your shoes. Always choose comfort above anything else so you won’t experience blisters, bruises, calluses and other long term foot pain such as corns, bunions, misalignment of the toes, irritation of the joints and nerves and other major injuries to the foot.
